Abstract：The vibration of a uniform flexible rod connected to a concentrated mass which is further connected to a spring is solved. The vibration of a nonuniform flexible rod connected to a concentrated mass is also solved. Various limited cases are discussed, which give the results of many special cases studied in previous literature.
