Abstract:Artificial intelligence (AI) processes complex data through machine learning algorithms, accelerates drug carrier development, predicts pharmacokinetic parameters, improves design efficiency and accuracy, and exhibts broad application prospects in drug delivery systems. Compared to traditional drug delivery systems which are time-consuming and laborious to design, AI empowerment greatly improves their practical application efficiency. This article reviews the application progress of AI in drug delivery systems. Firstly, the focus was on exploring AI enabled drug carrier design. Subsequently, the construction of AI models in drug formulation and release optimization was summarized, and the latest achievements in AI prediction of pharmacokinetics were analyzed. Finally, a summary and outlook were provided for the challenges faced by AI enabled drug delivery systems and future research directions.
