Abstract:Academic sexual harassment in universities causes more and more attentions, but the public and the domestic academic circles have different cognition and understanding on it. As to the discussion of academic sexual harassment on campus,all kinds of discourses are mostly from the perspective of moral judgment. This study argues that, legal intervention and institutional constraints are needed in order to make effective prevention and treatment of sexual harassment /sexual assault on campus. It is urgent and important to regulate the rights of the relationship between teachers and students, going out of the thinking dilemma of “freedom theory”, turning the concerning focus of sexual harassment from personal willingness and moral judgment to the construction of rules and regulations and the improvement of relevant systems in universities in China.
