Abstract:The paper sorts out the classification information of the three major digests, i.e. Xinhua Digest, Chinese Social Science Digest, Academic Liberal Arts Colleges Digest, and Replicated Journal of Information Center for Social Sciences of RUC as academic assessment factors in different higher education institutions and analyses the related aspects for the grading system. There are three elements for journal grading: academic level of the papers reprinted in these journals, academic reputation of the journals and their dissemination effects, comparative paper evaluation standard provisions for different disciplines. And a journal’s academic level is the main indicator for its grading category. The assessment is beneficial for scholars to improve their academic competences and promoting the dissemination and impacts of the academic papers, etc. Nevertheless, some scholars and journals cater to the tastes of these journals, resulting in forming an impetuous atmosphere in academic research. Therefore, higher education institutions should be aware of the assessment limitations.
