Cultural Identity in the Reproduction of Cultural Space of Tourism Destination——A Case Study on Waving Dance of Shemihu Village

Abstract:From the perspective of cultural identity, this paper applies the theory of space production to study the process of cultural space reproduction in tourism destinations, so as to provide useful references for the protection and development of excellent traditional cultural space and the exploration of the path of cultural renaissance in rural revitalization. By means of micro-regional investigation, interview, discourse analysis and other research methods, this paper studies the relationship between cultural identity of the Waving Dance and cultural space reproduction of tourism destination of the Shemihu Village. First, the government occupies the dominant position of cultural identity, constructs cultural space of Shemihu Village through legislative power and discourse power, and directs the direction of space reproduction. Second, through understanding their own traditional cultural values, cultural elites and residents constantly enhance their sense of space cultural identity and assume the role of cultural creation and inheritance consciously. Then, they actively participate in the space reproduction of tourism destinations and become a direct force of space reproduction. Third, tourists’ gaze can enhance local residents’ cultural identity, cultural confidence and sense of pride, which is conducive to promote the reproduction of cultural space of the tourism destinations. Fourth, based on cultural identity, the government, cultural elites, residents, tourists and other practice subjects play different roles in the cultural space reproduction of tourism destination, forming the internal mechanism of cultural space reproduction of tourism destination.
