Abstract:Tertium quid is Lu Xun’s intellectual crystallization of his personal experiences, which is neither a philosophical concept, nor a deep inquiry of his soul, but reflections on his own life which is full of scars: who am I? Where do I come from? Where will I go? The series of questions indicate Lu Xun’s thoughts on the value and significance of human existence and his final protests against life’s nihility after his fierce inner clash between hope and despair.
