Abstract:The Prague School of Sinology has achieved fruitful research results by focusing on the works of modern Chinese left-wing writers. However, those works have also been considered by the other sinology community as those of little academic value, influenced by official ideology. In fact, with in-depth study of their works, we can find that the Prague School of Sinology was not passively swayed by official ideology, but rather, in contrast to European history and culture, it understood the important role of Chinese left-wing writers and their works in promoting the development of Chinese history, starting from the real needs of Chinese social reality. Left-wing writers appeared as Heroes in the sight of Prague School of Sinology, showing three characters: romantic heroes with individualism, Marxist revolutionary heroes and Confucian traditional moral heroes. These characters not only reflect the richness of Chinese left-wing writers and their dynamic characters as well, but also reflect the uniqueness of Prague School’s study of Chinese literature, which conveys both social ideals and moral concerns in their academic research, trying to remedy the crisis of European culture in the 20th century with the spirit of Chinese culture.
