Abstract:This research focused on integrated scheduling problem of quay crane (QC) and internal truck (IT) in multi-vessel operation at the container terminal under double-cycle strategy. Using linear programming method of operational research, the mixed integer programming model is established for integrated scheduling of quay crane and internal truck. For a comparison of double-cycle and single cycle operation strategy, the mathematical simulation examples are designed. Meanwhile, to verify model performance when deals with different scenarios, the model sensitivity are also analyzed. The experimental results show that the double-cycle operation strategy is able to decrease about 20% operation time compared with the single-cycle strategy. Therefore, the model established in this work is able to deal with integrated scheduling problem of QC and IT in multi-vessel operation at the container terminal under double-cycle strategy and improve the terminal operation efficiency.
