Spatial-temporal evolution and collaborative approaches of the coupling coordination relationship between star hotel industry and tourism flow in China

Abstract:In this paper the coupling coordination degree and temporal and spatial characteristics between China's star hotel industry and tourism flow in China were studied to provide theoretical reference for the spatial layout of star hotel industry. Based on the index data of star hotel industry and tourism flow from 2010 to 2019, the comprehensive evaluation index and coupling coordination scheduling of the two systems are calculated by entropy coupling coordination model. The spatial analysis method in ArcGIS is used to reveal the temporal and spatial characteristics of coupling coordination degree. The main conclusions are as follows. 1)Spatial hierarchy: the coupling coordination degree decreases from the eastern coastal area of China to the western inland area through the central area. 2) Spatial zonality: the area above the second high value of coupling coordination degree is the eastern coastal area.d The median area is North China, central China, and southwest China, which are dynamically adjusted around the three regions. The sub-low-value area generally presents the interpolation distribution around the edge median area, forming a “T-shaped” spatial distribution pattern. Low-value areas have long been concentrated in Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, and Tibet. 3) Spatial aggregation: the positive global spatial aggregation and local spatial aggregation of coupling coordination degree are significant, and the distribution of cold and hot spots is regular. 4) Spatial directionality: the center of gravity of the coupling coordination degree generally tends to migrate from east to west, spatially distributed from northeast to southwest, and inclined to east-west. The coordination paths include regulation of the development scale of star hotel industry and tourism flow, promotion of the development benefits of star hotel industry and tourism flow, optimization of the spatial structure of star hotel industry and tourism flowand improvement of star hotel industry system structure and tourism flow system structure. The following suggestions are given: strengthening the policy regulation of the development and construction of star hotel industry, improving the scale of tourism market and development of high-quality tourism, establishing inter-provincial tourism cooperation and regional tourism cooperation mechanism and promoting the service quality of star hotels and optimizing service supply.
