Abstract:Clarifying the relationship between tourism urbanization and ecosystem service value can provide theoretical support and quantitative basis for the optimization of tourism human-land system. On the basis of constructing the relational framework of tourism urbanization and ecosystem service value, this paper takes the Wuling Mountain area of Hunan Province, which is rich in tourism resources but ecologically fragile, as a case, using multi-source data and PVAR model, coupling coordination degree model and spatial trend surface to analyze the interactive relationship and coordination effect between the two systems in 37 counties in the area. The results show that: (1) From 2011 to 2021, the overall level of tourism urbanization and ecosystem service value in the Wuling Mountain area of Hunan Province has increased. The gap of tourism urbanization between counties is gradually increasing, and it is difficult to break through the “low-level equilibrium” trap for most counties. The average ecosystem service value has also gradually become differentiated. The central and western counties in the area have increased significantly, while the eastern, southern and northwest fringe areas have shown a downward trend. (2) In the short term, the positive effect of ecosystem service value on tourism urbanization is very significant, while the counter-effect of tourism urbanization is relatively weak; in the long term, both systems have strong self-development inertia. (3) Tourism urbanization and ecosystem service value are developing in a coordinated manner, and the gap between counties is gradually converging. Spatially, the coupling coordination degree shows the evolution characteristics of “central uplift” in the east-west direction, and maintains the pattern of “high in the north and low in the south” in the north-south direction. In addition, the coordinated development zone shows a trend of continuous expansion from north to south with Wulingyuan and Yongding as the core. However, the problem of the lag of tourism urbanization is widespread.
