| Reviewing the 20th Century Studies of the Chinese Rural and Peasants Issues in Retrospect |

Abstract In the process of the 20th century's Chinese modernization, China's rural and peasants issues have become so important that not only China's government and academic circles but also scholars abroad have attached great importance to them. This paper serves as a general review of the Chinese and foreign studies of those issues, according to which such studies have reached two climaxes and produced two great theoretical results, thus promoting relevant disciplinary studies.
