| The Artistic Conception Construction of Furnishings Art in Song Dynasty |

Abstract This paper，from the perspective of social cultural horizon，first analyzes the causes for the emergence of classicism and the popularity of literati interests in the Song dynasty and their concrete influences on furnishings art design. Furthermore，this paper attempts to discover the enriching cultural origins for the reconstruction of the independent discourse system of “Contemporary Chinese Design” by analyzing the furnitureoriented design and layout in the Song Dynasty against a background of the prosperous Song market economy and penetrating into the design culture contributing to the brilliant achievement of the design art in the Song Dynasty.
