| The Medical Missionary Association of China and the Integral Development of the Western Medicine in East Asia in Modern Times(1886－1932) |

Abstract As an integral district， the nations in East Asia have attacked by approximately the same tropical diseases and some other district diseases. Meanwhile，the nations in East Asia was also a integral district in the eyes of Christian medical missionaries from western countries. At the beginning of the 20th century， the Medical Missionary Association of China， as a medical academic organization mainly composed of the medical missionaries in China， absorbed medical missionaries from other countries in East Asia， reporting the medical achievements in other countries in East Asia， participating the academic conference on tropical diseases， preventing and curing the epidemic diseases. Its activities promoted the integral development of medical treatment and public health in East Asia， and the development of the western medicine in modern China， especially the development of the tropical medicine.
