Abstract The decades from the middle period of the Eastern Han Dynasty to Emperor Wei Ming of the Three Kingdoms period was considered as an important period of social transformation in ancient China, and also a golden age for the development of entertainment and literature , which led to the change of the relationship between the literati’s entertainment and literature. The change can be presented as follows: Firstly, the literati’s entertainment activities and literary creation activities achieved unity; Secondly, lots of typical entertainment literary works appeared; Thirdly, the literati’s ideas on entertainment and literature integrated into an organic system. The full development and mutual penetration of the three aspects mentioned above ultimately made the literati’s entertainment literature-oriented and literature entertainment-oriented at the same time, marking the relationship between ancient Chinese literati’s entertainment and literary activities rising to a new level.
