| The Discussion of “Taiwan Culture” and Lu Hsun's Image in the Early Days of Restoration on Taiwan |

Abstract After victory of the Anti-Japan War， Taiwan， which just returned to its motherland， although under the dominance of the Kuomintang's government， has suddenly emerged with a strong ideological trend of Leftist Cultural. The monthly magazine Taiwan Culture epitomizes Lu Hsun's propaganda and image-building. The image-shaping of Lu Hsun not only reflects integration of the cultural awareness of intellectual elites on “nationalization”and “modernization” inside and outside of Taiwan province under special circumstances， but also embodies a subtle psychological difference between the Mainland people in Taiwan to spread the concept of enlightenment and express their indignation demand. In addition， Chen Yi's left-leaning political concept and dilemma of governing are also important factors accounted for rising of the ideological trend of Leftist Cultural.
