Abstract As an institutionalized discipline， China's political science has been of practical application since its birth. It bases itself on practical needs and aims to solve practical problems. With the innovation in the practice of Chinese modernization， the paradigm transformation of “independent research” has gradually emerged in the dilemma between “practical needs and theoretical supply”. Field politics is the embodiment of this transformation， which forms an autonomous research path in the practice of Chinese agricultural and rural modernization， acquiring methodological self-consciousness in the theoretical failures encountered in the rural political research， and forming the conceptual consciousness in its practice expression.
