Abstract Through the analysis on the context and presentation of quota policy in Chuan village from the angle of gender, the paper draws a conclusion that the quota policy is the one with an awareness of social gender. It accords with the rural women's interests, and efficiently enlarges the portio of women's representation in village committee. However it achieves little, that is,it seldom performs on genderalization and boundarization of women's occupation. The possible reason is the irner weakness of structure of the quota policy and some problems in policy awareness, policy exectution and policy supervision during its performance.
