Abstract:As a function in organization and management, coordination is used to adjust the interrelation of the individuals in the organization in order to achieve the ultimate goal. Coordination is able to make individuals groups in a whole, reducing the contradiction and conflict between each other and promoting the realization of the overall goal. The research on the coordination of relationship between the port industry of China and the growth of economy plays an important guiding role for the port industry and healthy development of national economy. According to the correlation model between port industry and economic growth, the correlation factor between port industry and economic growth is extracted, and the coordination indicator system of the relationship between the port industry and economic growth is established. Then, correlation analysis of the standardization of indicators is made to simplify the indicator evaluation system with the bigger indicators of correlation coefficient removed and the impact of the duplication of information between indicators eliminated. Through the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method, the multi-indicators are linearly combined to calculate the comprehensive indicator, which are able to reflect the port industry and the economic growth. After the comprehensive indicator of the above two is measured, a coordination degree between port industry and economic growth at the different period is generated to evaluate the relationship levels between them according to the coordination degree model. The practical results by data calculation show that there were six obvious changes in the coordination degree of the relationship between the port industry and economic growth in China during the period from 1990 to 2014. The first change happened in the 1990s, from 1990 to 1991, when the phenomenon of ship delay and port congestion appeared because of the high-speed development of economy and foreign trade brought by the reform and opening-up policy. The second one formed in the period from 1992 to 1997. At that time, the development of the port industry and economic growth stayed in a state of disharmony. The third one appeared in the period from 1998 to 1999, during which there was a state of little coordination between our country's port industry and economic growth. The fourth one came up from 2000 to 2004. During this stage, the coordination of the national port industry and economic growth started to transform from the state of relative coordination to the state of coordination. From 2005 to 2009, when China's economic growth and development of the port industry was at a golden period of rapid development as well as the coordination of them also was in a good condition, the fifth change occurred. As for the last one, it happened during the period from 2010 to 2014 when there was a condition of more good coordination. These changes were closely related to the background and policy environment at that time. Among them, the coordination degree between the two reached a higher level from 2005 to 2009.
