Abstract:Under the background of the diversification and expansion of education, this paper examines the influence of education on physical health. Using the data from the 2012 China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) and the evidence obtained from the empirical analysis, this paper finds that education in general positively influences physical health, which is affected by factors such as age and gender. For instance, compared to men, women with the same level of education are significantly less healthy than men. Enrollment expansion in higher education generally reduces the health level of those who receive undergraduate education, and different types of undergraduate education have different influence on physical health. Accepting vocational education at the juvenile stage may have a greater negative impact on physical health.
