Technology Enabled Teaching Transformation: The Characteristics and Advancement of International Advanced Innovative Pedagogy——The Analysis of Innovating Pedagogy in 2012-2021 Based on Content Analysis Method

Abstract:Technology-enabled teaching innovation is an important feature of contemporary educational reform. Since 2012, the Institute of Educational Technology in Open University of UK has continuously published the “Innovating Pedagogy Report”, which studies and promotes the major teaching innovations affecting school education today and in the next ten years. It is an international and forward-looking document that guides the innovation of teaching. According to the content analysis method, we conduct the coding analysis of 86 innovative teaching methods based on four aspects: basic information, the basis of innovative teaching methods, the applicable situations of and the dimensions embodied by innovative teaching methods. The research finds that: from cultivating “active learners” to cultivating “global citizens of the future society”, the teaching objectives of innovative teaching methods have turned to discourse; from “technology application” to “system reconstruction”, information technology has undergone practical changes; from “classroom learning” to “ubiquitous learning”, the learning field has expanded in time and space; from “single discipline” to “the integration of disciplines”, the theoretical basis of innovative teaching methods presents a trend of discipline integration.
