Abstract:Tourism development has a profound impact on National Park system pilot areas, and the perceptions and attitudes of local residents, as the owners, are directly related to the sustainable development of tourism. From the perspective of social-based psychology, the horizontal perspective of relative deprivation theory is introduced into the sustainable tourism perceptions and attitudes theory. Sustainable tourism perception and attitude model is expanded to five dimensions, including economic dimension, socio-cultural dimension, environmental dimension, institutional dimension and horizontal deprivation. The research use mixed research methods in the development of design and take three typical communities in Shennongjia National Park System Pilot Area in Hubei. And then Structural Equation Model and in-depth interview logs were used to test the proposed model and hypothesized relationships between residents' sustainable tourism perception, horizontal deprivation, satisfaction and development support. The study results are shown as follows. 1) In addition to the economic perception of tourism impacts, horizontal deprivation has a more significant direct impact on residents' satisfaction. 2) Environmental perception of tourism impact and tourism satisfaction positively affect residents' development support. 3) The economic perception of tourism impacts dimension and horizontal deprivation are confirmed to be indirectly influencing development support via residents' satisfaction as a completely mediating variable. This article theoretically enriches the research of traditional residents' perceptions and attitudes and provides policy suggestions for community governance in National Park.
