The characteristics and explanations of erosion and deposition of sandy coast in Qiwang Bay of Shantou City

Abstract：Eight sections were set up to investigate topography and sediment of sand beach in Qiwang Bay， Shantou City. Based on field data collected in three surveys from Marth， 2014 to August， 2015， the characteristics along with causes of erosion and deposition are analyzed within the study region. Seasonal variation of topography was found in this area， and particle size distribution was influenced seriously by typhoon， with alongshore transport as major mode of sand movement.
