Abstract:Trimethylolpropane trioleate (TMPTO) was prepared as base oil along with a series of 4-quinazolone propionate as lubricant additives. The additives were dissolved in TMPTO with a concentration of 1wt.%, respectively. The antiwear property of modified lubricants were evaluated by using a microtribometer (UMT-3). Based on the theory of quantitative structure tribo-ability relationship (QSTR), the three-dimensional quantitative structure tribo-ability relationship (3D-QSTR) models of antiwear property about lubricant additives were established by comparative similarity indices analysis (CoMSIA) method. The results show that the antiwear properties of lubricant modified by 4-quinazolone pentyl propionate, 4-quinazolone tetradecyl propionate, 4-quinazolone pentadecyl propionate and 4-quinazolone hexadecyl propionate are good. The presence of branch carbon chain might have an adverse effect on the antiwear property for 4-quinazolone propionate. The CoMSIA models constructed by steric field and hydrophobic field have good prediction ability, which indicates that it will benefit antiwear activity if the specific molecular groups present in the particular areas.
