Abstract：Based on comprehensive efficiency， pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency， this paper mainly uses the data envelopment analysis method to evaluate the production efficiency of the main agricultural production areas in Hubei Province during 2000-2017.The evaluation index system of agricultural production efficiency is established. Results show that the overall performance of agricultural production efficiency in the main agricultural production areas of Hubei Province isn't good， indicating that the input-output of agricultural production is in poor condition. The agricultural production efficiency exhibits an obvious pattern of spatio-temporal differentiation： the time pattern shows steady improvement， and the spatial pattern shows that the counties with higher agricultural production efficiency are mainly located in the middle and north of Hubei Province. The agricultural production efficiency of Jianghan Plain， the traditional commodity grain base， is relatively low， and the pattern of district differentiation is shown as： Xianning district〉Xiaojing district〉Xiangsui district〉Huangehuang district〉Yijing district.The temporal and spatial changes of agricultural production efficiency are affected by the natural factors and humanistic factors. The natural factorsare mainly focus on the terrain and soil.The humanistic factors include agricultural labor force， planting area， agricultural mechanization level.
