Abstract:The fractal model of the effective permeability for the power-law fluid in fracture-matrix dual porosity medium is developed based on the fractal theory and technology and the generalized Darcy's law by considering the transfer of power-law fluids from porous matrix to fracture. The results show that the effective permeability for the power-law fluid in fracture-matrix dual porosity medium is dependent not only on the properties of power-law fluids, but also on the microstructural parameters of fracture-matrix dual porosity medium and the ratio of Δpm/Δpf of the pressure difference along the porous matrix to that along the fracture. Furthermore the impacts of these factors on the effective permeability for the power-law fluid are also analyzed.
