Abstract Tao Jun’s old poetry creation has the characteristics of “the warrior spirit” and “the charm of learned celebrity”. “The warrior spirit” refers to the passionate， simple and popular poetic art orientation formed by the modern revolutionary collective will， and “the charm of learned celebrity” refers to the personal emotions formed by the influence of classical celebrity style and the quiet，clear and subtle deep poetic orientation as well. The two characteristics are in line with each other and fit each other. Throughout Tao Jun’s poetry life，it is showed that his choice of poetics is closely related to the destiny of the modern nation.
