| How to Promote Mutual Assistance for the Rural Elderly in the New Era？ |

Abstract To cope with the difficulties of mutual assistance for the rural elderly in the new era， we must rely on the Chinese-style foundation of mutual assistance， reveal the theoretical and practical logic behind the phenomenon， and demonstrate China’s institutional advantages and root attributes. Detailly，we should approach the new type mutual assistance that blends legal and rational bases to solve the difficulties，to transcend the limitations of the absence of “legal principle—non-acquaintance society—public sphere” in traditional mutual assistance system，and the absence of “humanity and reason—the weak” in modern mutual assistance system. We should explore to reach inclusive mutual assistance based on mutual benefits and shared responsibilities， and reconstruct the value system， supporting resources and organizational basis for new rural mutual assistance network with the help of spirit， system and community of mutual assistance， and promote the sustainability， universalization and standardization of mutual assistance， so that to help the rural elderly achieve a happy， safe and valuable life.
