Reviewing the 20th Century Studies of the Chinese Rural and Peasants Issues in Retrospect
In the process of the 20th century's Chinese modernization, China's rural and peasants issues have become so important that not only China's government and academic circles but also scholars abroad have attached great importance to them. This paper serves as a general review of the Chinese and foreign studies of those issues, according to which such studies have reached two climaxes and produced two great theoretical results, thus promoting relevant disciplinary studies.

Reviewing Macao Literature in Retrospect
This paper reviews Macao literature in retrospect, surveys its development and periods, summarizes its outstanding features and expounds the background, cause and main symbols of its prosperity and emergence in the transitional period. According to it, the unique aesthetic features of Macao literature are of three kinds: a)blending historical reflections with modern consciousness; b)full of metropolitan style; c)characterized by moderate and upright aesthetics.

On the Evolution of Politics in the West Germany Before Unification
The consolidation of the democracy and the positive interaction between the political democracy and the economic prosperity in the Federal Republic of Germany are unprecedented in the German history. Such achievements are due to the basic orbit of her political development which is characterized by a middle-road politics, i.e. adhering to the established democracy and opposing both the ultra-rightists and the left revolutionaries. The reason for this are as follows: the effects of World War II and her reforms carried out by the Allies; the lessons drawn from history by the German people and their politicians; the system of the social-market economy contributing to the alleviation of some social contradictions; and the favorable international circumstances that conduced to the success of her democratic and peaceful development.

Weimar Germany''''s China Policy
After the end of the First World War, Weimar Germany strove to lift herself out of the isolation, to cast off the yoke of the Versailles Treaty, and to return to the Chinese market. Therefore, her China policy was of a "equal", "friendly", and "neutral" character, which was of great help not only to resuming diplomatic relations between China and Germany but also to promoting the development of the Sino-Germany relations.

Numeral-Quantifier Expressions and Subjective Notion of Quantity
The subjective notion of quantity refers to the speaker's subjective evaluation of quantities and is a subcategory of the quantity category. The subjective notion of quantity can be expressed linguistically by: A)numeral-quantifier expressions, including those used as modifiers; B)marking words used at the end of sentences; C)adverbs used as adverbials; and D)set frames that consist of two parts. This article discusses the subjective notion of quantity expressed by numeral-quantifier expressions under the following three circumstances: a)the repetition of numeral-quantifier expressions; b)special numeral-quantifier structures; and c) those numeral-quantifier structures modified directly by some words.

On Interdependence of Mutual Beneficialism and Socialist Morality
The Tang Dynasty's cultural family is composed of poetry and other literary and artistic modes of expression. This composition reflects the blood relationship between poetry and other various literary and artistic modes of expression, as the latter often become spread medium of the former. Of the various modes of expression, dance accompanied by music, recitation, calligraphy, inscription, painting and legends all contributed a great deal more to the spread of the Tang Dynasty poems, for dance accompanied by music, strong in artistic charm and unique in spread function, promoted the prosperity and blending of poetry and music; calligraphy and inscription, long in existence and pleasant to the eye, mirrors the cultural character of the Chinese nation; painting is workable in visual sense and feel for sense; and legends are a kind of popular cultural expression whichplays a special narrative role in the spread of poetry.

On the Alert Against Cultural Invasion in Cultural Challenge
Of various challenges the China's education has to face during the 21st century, one is the multiculture blending. This paper studies the "cultural challenge" phenomenon and states the fact that China's education in the 21st century will be "culturally invaded". By analyzing the history and the actual manifestation of this "cultural invasion", it expounds our correct attitude towards and lofty mission in accepting the challenge and resistance against the "cultural invasion".
