Abstract:To identify the pathogen of maize bacterial stalk rot disease occurred in Southern Fan Base of Hainan Province, the pathogenic bacteria JF02 and JF04 were isolated from the maize stalk rot tissue. Back inoculation assay confirmed that JF02 and JF04 are the pathogen of maize stalk rot disease. In addition, the bacteria strain JF02 and JF04 display the same 16S rRNA sequence and is very closed to Dickeya zeae EC1 (99%), which indicated that JF02 and JF04 are the same and belongs to Dickeya zeae. Overall, this study provide references for the control of maize bacterial stalk rot disease and future screening of resistant maize inbred line.
