Abstract:Carbon dioxide is both a major component of greenhouse gases and a resource-rich and renewable carbon resource. It is expected that catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide to useful compounds and materials will definitely contribute to sustainable development. Due to its thermodynamic stability and kinetic inertness, the key to activating CO2 is to develop efficient catalyst systems.Studies on carbon dioxide chemistry in our research group are systematically summarized in this review from the aspects of chemical reactions in carbon dioxide medium,in situ carbonic acid catalyzed reactions, carbon capture and utilization,CO2 induced by visible light, the formation of C—C/C—N/C—O bond with CO2 as a C1 synthon and CO2 reduction functionalization.
