Abstract：The development of Hunan Bamboo-Guild in Parrot Islet， Hanyang， reflects the migration process driven by commerce， and is the epitome of the settlement evolution in some areas of Huguang (i.e. the intersection of the two rivers or the river lake wharf area). Based on the analysis of literature， ancientmap comparison and spatial restoration， Hunan Bamboo-Guild in Parrot Islet of Hanyang is taken as the observation object， and the aspects of Hunan Bamboo-Guild are investigated， such as theraft-riding， dyke construction， embankment construction and outer-town construction. Based on the development context of Hunan Bamboo-Guild in Hanyang， the settlement development and evolution mode from raft，dyke，embankment toouter-town in some areas of Huguang plain are revealed.
