Abstract：The moss Physcomitrium sphaericum (Ludw.) Fürnr.， a new-recorded species of Physcomitrella (Funariaceae) from Xinjiang， is reported in the present work. In this paper， by means of optical microscope and scanning electron microscope (SEM)， the plant， leaf， stem， capsules， spores and other important structures of this speices were photographed， and its characteristics were described.
