A new record of Pottiaceae from Mongolia:Weissia exserta(Broth.) P.C. Chen.

Abstract:The rare moss Weissia exserta(Broth.) P.C. Chen., formerly known from China and Japan,is reported form Khentei Mountains of Mongolia. Distinctive features of this Weissia species are the exserted seta, the oblong-elliptic and cleistocarpous capsules,the presence of annulus, the absence of peristome teeth, and the weakly differentiated operculum. Description, illustration, distribution data and discussion are provided.
