Abstract The generation rules of any cultural phenomenon in the world are similar, but every specific generation trajectory has its own character. With the growing size of the E-sports system and the increasing complexity of the related fields, the definition of the connotation of E-sports culture is also continuously extended and broadened. Using the Youth Sub-culture theory to analyze the E-sports culture can not answer the question of “what is E-sports culture”, but from the multiple perspectives of the Internet era, consumer symbols, identity, and ritual resistance, we could approach and understand the reality of E-sports’ culture better in the consideration of various cultural relations in Chinese context. At the same time, E-sports culture also starts a new cultural turn in the new era, gradually extending into a type of culture that complements and interacts with mainstream culture, which also constructs original experiences with global significance for Chinese youth sub-culture theory.
