Abstract:The adventitious buds of fresh-picked Ficus hirta Vahl were induced by 6-Benzylamino adenine (6-BA), alpha-naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and 2,4-epibrassinolide (2,4-EBL), with the effects of indobutyric acid (IBA) and NAA on its rooting studied. The results showed that the induction rates of three hormones to adventitious buds were 6-BA, 2,4-EBL and NAA from high to low. The effects of three factors on rooting are IBA, MS and NAA from strong to weak. At present, the role of brassinosteroids (BRs) in the regeneration of Ficus hirta Vahl in vitro has not been reported. Therefore, this study would provide not only an optimized way for rapid propagation of Ficus hirta Vahl, but also a scientific basis for exploring the role of BRs, a steroid hormone with high physiological activity, in plant tissue culture.
