Abstract:To study the chemical constituents of Menyanthes trifoliate L., solvent extraction method, normal and reverse phase silica gel column chromatography and semi-preparative HPLC were used to isolate the compounds. Their chemical structures were elucidated on the basis of charactermatic physical and chemical properties and spectroscopic analysis. Six iridoid glycoside compounds were isolated from N-butanol extract of the 95% alcohol extract of M. trifoliate., and they were identified as 7-epiexaltoside (1), 6″,7″-dihydro-7-epiexaltoside (2), sweroside (3), vogeloside (4), epi-vogeloside (5), loganin (6). Compounds 2-5 were isolated from this plant for the first time. The results of α-glucosidase inhibitory activity analysis showed certain α-glucosidase inhibitory activities of compound 1-6.
