Abstract:In this paper, the evaluation index system of tourism development quality in the western region was constructed from the four dimensions including tourism development efficiency, tourism environmental quality, tourism transportation foundation and tourism public service. Then the development level, spatial correlation and specific obstacle factors of tourism in the western region are analyzed using entropy method, Moran index and obstacle degree diagnostic analysis method. The results show that the development quality of tourism in the western region has improved year by year, and the development quality of tourism in the southwest region is better than that in the northwest region, exhibiting significant spatial correlation and aggregation. The specific obstacle factors are the number of tourism employees, tourism labor productivity, air passenger transport capacity, railway passenger transport capacity and road passenger transport capacity. Finally, relevant countermeasures are put forward according to the obstacle factors, in order to provide suggestions for the tourism development of the western region.
