Abstract：Flood has been threatening the Jianghan Plain for thousands years. The completion of Three Gorge Project will decrease greatly the direct and indirect damage caused by the flood. Based on these analysis, we propose five suggestions for the adjustment of the industrial structures of the Jianghan Plain: (1)increase the investment in agriculture and develop high efficient agriculture; (2)cultivate and develop main industries such as medicine chemistry, electronic mechanics, food making, textile and costume, construction material and so on; (3) promote development of the third industry; (4)develop the mine resources and construct salt industry; (5)properly develop electricity consuming industries.
