Abstract：This paper makes an analysis on the Callus induction of Taxus. Chinensis var. mairei (Lemee et Level) cheng et L.K.Fu from bud to stem, the growth and taxol content of Callus of bud, which indicates that buds are easier than young stems for initiating Callus. The callus could be induced from bud after 5 days on MS medium supplemented with 2.0 mg/L 2,4 D and 0.5 mg/L NAA. The rate of callus induction from bud is as high as 100%. The superior medium for the callus growth is B 5 medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/L 2,4 D?1.0 mg/L NAA and 0.5 mg/L KT. Its growth rate and taxol content are 7.74 g/L and 0.0098% respectively.
