A numerical research of nonlinear propagation of gravity wave packets in three-dimension isothermal atmosphere and horizontal winds--(Ⅱ) Inhomogeneous winds
Abstract:A numerical simulation of nonlinear propagation of gravity wave packets with Gaussian distribution in three-dimension isothermal atmosphere, shear horizontal winds is presented by using FICE scheme. The results show that wave disturbed velocity increases less than the results expected by the linear gravity waves theory. The shear horizontal winds decreases the vertical wavelength of wave packet.
