Abstract：The natural environment is the basis for the formation of cities. Topography, hydrology and climate have a profound influence on the urban construction and development of Yangtze basin. Nanjing, Hangzhou,Suzhou and Jingdezhen are ancient city model of organic combination with the natural environment in history. The modern cities in Yangtze basin are becoming ecological cities that harmonize well with the nature.
