Abstract:This paper calculated the input-output efficiency of 110 cities' of Yangtze River economic belt (YREB), then evaluated the relationship between efficiency and ecotope by Super-efficiency DEA and Malmquist index and Coupling Analysis model, which based on the urban input-output indicators. Four major results were obtained. First, Shanghai's resources input-output efficiency eas superior to other cities from 2001 to 2015. The urban efficiency scores of some industrial cities such as Panzhihua and Liupanshui are lower than 0.626. The distribution of lowest efficiency cities mainly transfered from the northwest of Sichuan and the south of Anhui Province to the southwest of Sichuan and the north of Hubei Province. Second, The tfpch of YREB was increased by 0.8% per year on average from the perspective of Spatiotemporal pattern evolution from 2001 to 2015. The tfpch values of coastal cities which lie in the lower reaches of Yangtze River and most of the cities along the Yangtze River were significantly greater than other cities. Third, the resource-based city such as Panzhihua and Maanshan had the lowest ecotope scores, and the scores declined year by year, which indicates that the ecotope has been damaged severely while developing the mineral resources. The ecotope of YREB emerge a deteriorating and stable trend as a whole. Fourth, The cities' coupling coordination between input-output and ecotope of the YREB descended first and then ascended on the perspective of Spatiotemporal pattern from 2001 to 2015. The low coupling type cities transfered from the north of Hubei and north of Jiangsu area to the northwest of Hubei, Hunan and other regions which lie in the middle and the lower reaches of Yangze River.
