Abstract：The paper reports thqt when mice were treated in simulated air benzene-pollution, the mice peripheral blood neutrophil nuclea excrescence averages after the treatment differed from that before the treatment, and nuclear excrescence incidence was directcy proportional to the time of treatment. It shows that the benzene in air can induce peripheral blood neutrophil nuclear excrescence of mice. The result verifies that incidence of neutrophil nuclear excrescence is a closely related to the degree of environmental pollution. So it is feasible that we might use this nuclear excrescence incidence as a new biological index to detect the response of organism to toxic drugs and foodstuffs,polluted environment etc.
