Abstract：The earthquakes are closely related to active faults in southeastern Hubei Province. There are three groups of deep and large active faults through this area by adjacent area, stretching in the direction of NNE, NW and nearly EW. The faults move in different extent in neotectonic period and result in various and obvious geological and geomorphological indications. The earthquakes in the area are controlled from them and distributed unevenly in space and time. The degree and frequence are small.
