Abstract:A new enhancing mechanism of surfactants in FAAS is proposed based on investigation of enhancement of surfactants on manganese absorbance. The paper suggested that below the cmc of surfaetants, enhancement result primarily from enrichment of analyte in small droplets of aerasols because of the surface effect of surfactants; above the cmc, enrichment is getting leas and less, but new enhancement result from the binding of analyte to micellae in bulk, and in flame, amplifying of reductibility of flame gas because of incomplete burning of surfaetants is always one of enhaning factors, espcciaeey above the cmc of surfactants this enhancement is greater as it occurs very round the analyte.
