Abstract：This thesis deals with five species of Hexamermis(Mermithdae: Nematoda), parasites of the vegetable pests(Lepidoptera) in the suburbs of Wuchang, They are H. albicans sinensis, H. agrotis, H. pieris, H. taihuensis and another is unidentified. H. albicans sinensis is a superior species, H. agrotis and H. pieris are common species, the latter two are rare species. Above-mentioned several Hexamermis spp. were found in vegetable fields parasiting larvaes of Agrotis ypsilon, Pieris rapae, Laphygma exigua, Prodenia litura, Heliothis assulta; Among the first four species, rates of parasitism are as high as 41.4%, 34.0%, 10.8%, 5.7% respectively; Prodenia liture infected by Hexamermis naturally is reported for the first time. Between the Hexamermis spp. and the above-mentioned insect pests, there is no host specificity.
