CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS OF THE ESSENTIAL OILOF EAPATORIUM ADENOPHORUM SPRENG

Abstract:This paper describes the use of the advantages of the GC/MS techniquefor the analysis of essential oil of E. Adenophorum spreng. Identification of essential is demonstrated using a system consisting of the Hewlett-Packard's an HP 5890Gas chromatograph equipped with an HP 5988A Mass spectrometry and HP 59970CWorkstation. The esential oil main component contains 1-methy1-2 (1-methyl)benzene and Endobornytclletate. There other high-content components, Hedycaryol,Citral, Copaene and Lonipinene also were identified. All the 27 components were identified and estimated from the essential oil both by calillary gas chromatography/mass spectrometry and the standard sample.
