Abstract：There were five stages in course of the callus formatiom and development in Asparagus officinalis (L.),namely,cell activation, cell division ,cell differentiation, morphogenesis and decline phase.Six types of callus were observed in terms of the arrangement of the meristematic cell.Each callus has his own morphogenetic capacity.The frequency of formation bud of the second type callus,formation root of the fourth type callus and differentiation embryoid of the sixth callus,respectively,was higher than that of any other.
