Abstract:The process in which polyaniline(PAn) was doped by large anionic acid such as alkyl benezosulfonic acid(ABSA) and the solubility of the mixture were studied. The dependence of apparent solubility and real solubility of PAn doped by ABSA on solvent and operated temperature exhibited the specific characteristics of large anionic acid doping PAn.i.e.,it was influneced by movement of molecular chains and distance between polymer chains.This was further proved by UV Vis spcctra.The structural analysis of soluble and insoluble fractions from PAn and ABSA mixture in chloroform by FT IR spectra demonstrated that the redox reaction occurred during the process was disadvangeous to the improvement of solubility of PAn doped by ABSA, whereas the prescnce of n alkyl in ABSA was advantagcous to it.The thermal stability of the mixture and complex of PAn and ABSA was also studied by DSC.
