Abstract：butylene bis(p hydroxybenzoates) (BBHB) were prepared from solbral and 1,4 butanediol by melted state transesterification reaction with Ti(OC 4H 9 n )/Sn( n C 4H 9) 2(C 11 H 23 COO) 2 as the catalyst. Three liquid crystalline polyesters were synthesized from terephthalyl dichloride and BBHB.Thermotropic liquid crystalline properties of these polyesters were identified by differential scanning calorimetry and polarizing microscope with a hot stage.
